"When you have paparazzi hiding in the bushes outside your home, the only thing you can control is how you respond publicly". That was what the actress Portia de Rossi once said about paparazzi. But then how to respond, when you are just 14 or more sadly when you are DEAD???!!!
Well, in the last one week, we have seen the ugly side of the Great Indian Media. We have seen a side where, what matters are only the TRP ratings and more viewership. We have seen a side where no care is taken for reputations, relationships, feelings, or even one’s own social responsibilities.
I'm talking about the twin murder case in Noida which involved an innocent girl of a tender age of 14, a family quite reputable and socially affluent, and a loyal servant of the family. The way the case was handled, both by police as well as media was very very disappointing to say the least. Firstly, there were glaring errors in the investigation, gross unimaginable assumptions made by police and finally unnecessary mudslinging by the media against the family, the servant and the poor little girl.
They didn’t think twice before ripping apart the reputations of the little girl, her parents and the family as a whole. I'm not debating if the accusations were true or false; I'm not even well equipped to do that. What disappoints me is the irresponsible behavior shown by our press and media in handling the facts or the mis-facts of the case. Police sometimes have to act in an insensitive way; it’s a part of their job, but what about the media? Where and when are the editing and re editing of stories done? One must accept the fact that today media and press’ reach is not only within the length and breadth of the country but all over the world. Before they make any accusations, they must get their facts verified and re verified. Frankly speaking, the way the facts were put up so hastily and in such ignorant manner - it smelled of cheap publicity and gross rhetoric. All this about a soul which no longer exists. Well, it’s actually a blessing that Aarushi isn’t here to see all this. Wonder how a girl of such a small age would have handled the situation? But for her parents, they have to live with it, irrespective of the truth.
This is a humble request to all those (read vulchars), looking to spice up stories and present before the people – Peep inside your heart & ask yourself - if this is what you asked for when you set about being a journalist, is this what you would want someone else to do to you and your family in the time of extreme crises?
Dude, after all, it is not about money all the time!!!

Here I START!
Well, I thought and I thought, then again I thought.
If Amitabh can , if Aamir Khan can, if people who are so busy in their lives that they can't squeeze out enough time to find a suitable name for their dogs, made out some time to write blogs day in and day out, why can't I?
Well, it had been brewing in my little but over burdened mind for so long. I remember to have created a blog space too, on some site (the name of which I have of course forgotten, thats why this new blog space here) but could never kick myself on the back to start writing. You might say it was laziness , I would prefer to say that it was my busy schedule (nice excuse). I would visit blogs, all types of them, techie blogs, movie blogs, general blogs, blogs of a few friends, whose writings interest me, famous blogs (Big AB on BidAdda). Every blog would inspire me, I would make up my mind to start writing but the inspiration somehow always got struck up there and never flowed down onto the keyboard.
So today, as I sit in my office with very little to do, being a Thursday and all already in a week end mood, I decide that if this is the time, let this be indeed the time.
Now, when you sit down to write a blog, you ask yourself - what do I write on? Will I use it as a diary, will I use it as knowledge base, will I use it to address my joys, my griefs, my feelings, my thoughts, etc., etc. I think I'll take a clue from my dear friend Joel who incidentally happens to be my Ex Boss too. His blogs are general, they are not categorized into any of the topics I mentioned above, or should I say they do have all of above - confused? - well they are general, they might contain anything. You can't anticipate what you are gonna read about, unless you start reading it.
I will basically, be writing on what I feel of at that moment - the moment I sit down to write. It can be sports, it can be computers, it can be office, home, food, sleep, wife, friends, family, feelings, dogs, actors who own dogs, actors who don't own dogs, dogs who own actors, anything!!!
I hope you, as a reader, will find my blogs interesting and keep coming back for more. Even if you think otherwise, you can always say yes to keep me happy!!!
Anyway, I would end this one here. Come back to find my next blog. I can't tell you the date but since the process has already begun, I assure you that it will come pretty soon.
Till then God Bless You & All The Best!!!
Cheers,
Anshuman
